Advancing the careers of DC’s early childhood educators

Transforming. Tomorrow. Together.

Mission

The Advancing Early Education Collaborative (AEEC) helps women who identify as Black or Latina in the field of early childhood education achieve their educational, career, and financial goals and aspirations.

  • AEEC is a partnership of five organizations. Led by Martha’s Table, these organizations include American University, Trinity Washington University, LIFT-DC, and Youth Invest Partners.

  • Together, we pave the way for earning a credential or degree in early childhood education.

  • AEEC provides extensive support services, financial assistance, and professional development to achieve economic prosperity and career advancement.

  • So, if you're a woman looking to make a difference in the lives of young children, AEEC is here to help you reach your full potential!

A clear and seamless education pathway for career entry and advancement

Embarking on a journey toward an early childhood education career can be a fulfilling experience that opens endless possibilities.

To start your journey, enroll in our CDA program at American University (AU), a nationally recognized program. After completion, seamlessly transition and transfer credits into AU and Trinity Washington University early childhood education degree programs.

For those with a CDA, you can apply directly to our degree programs.

AU and Trinity Washington universities programs meet the new education requirements for home caregivers, assistant teachers, and teachers set by the Office of the State Superintendent for Education (OSSE).

OSSE’s requirements will take effect in December 2023. Both universities are OSSE-approved educator preparation providers.

A positive and supportive atmosphere both inside and outside of the classroom

AEEC offers scholarships, stipends, practicum sites for student teaching, mentorship, and access to technology to help you succeed.
